Communications Infrastructure and AV (including AV, Security and Clinical Systems)
Project Description
Construction of a new two-story surgical center featuring 10 operating rooms. Also included within the building design was a new Gastro-Intestinal (GI) suite and pain treatment center. As part of the overall project, AV support was provided for two conference rooms, the main cafeteria and ten operating rooms. The cafeteria was outfitted with the infrastructure required to make it into a multi-use space that can be used for larger presentations. Each Operating Room has a high resolution wall-mount monitor with a central switch that allows occupants to review live images from the medical imaging equipment on one of two booms, or the surgeon’s or nurse’s PC. In addition, a live feed from the four GI procedure rooms was extended to the GI conference room to allow for training and review. Archi-Technology's Role Archi-Technology was the lead technology designer for this project as well as the project coordinator of University of Rochester Medical Center staff, vendors and contractors. Technology Construction Management (TCM) services were also used by URMC to ensure correct vendor installation and interoperability of the technology infrastructure and interconnected systems.
